Sea Glass Necklaces and Jewelry
I have always loved beach glass jewelry and have a large collection of unique jewelry. I also collect pieces of Hobe jewelry because my grandfather was a designer for the company from the 1930s until the 1960s. I have pieces that he left my family and I am always searching for more. This is where my passion for sea glass necklaces and other sea glass jewelry comes from.
Hobe began in 1883 and it has been in business for four generations. The founder was a Parisian master craftsman and he introduced the newest methods of mass production.
The company is out of New York and specialized in sterling or gold washed sterling set with semi-precious stones in both antique reproduction and new designs. Glamorous stars like Carole Lombard, Betty Davis, Barbara Stanwick, Mae West and Mary Martin were among the stars who wore Hobe on stage and off. In the 1930s Hobe made complete jewelry wardrobes for Director, Cecil B. DeMille.
My grandfather, Anthony Rossi, left us pictures of these famous stars thanking him for his work. Pa learned his trade from his father in Italy. Someday I hope to achieve the same standard of work, as he was a true Artisan. Hobes trademark was a tremendous standard of excellence and offered quality affordable pieces of jewelry. Something we all love!
